Iquitos is a magical place in the heart of the Peruvian Jungle, located in the northwest of the country. Iquitos is the largest jungle city in Peru and it is isolated from other big cities in Peru. Because it has no connecting roads, the only way to get there is by air.
Itinerary
Day 01.- Lima - Iquitos
Transfer to the airport, fly to Iquitos. Then we will transfer to the pier to sail on a boat called Pamacari, and start your ecological adventure through the majestic Amazon River, the wealthiest river in the world.
At the Zungarococha Amazon Lodge we’ll enjoy 2 magical and quiet nights, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest enjoying this paradise and its wildlife. After lunch we will visit ethnical groups. We’ll canoe in the evening before dinner. Lodging.
Day 02.- In The Jungle...
We will have an ecological walking excursion into the primary jungle. Following impressive native trails through the jungle, we’ll learn about the flora, fauna and herbal medicinal plants, and the magnificent "LUPUNA", the giant tree of the Amazon.
We will visit a riverside family, and have the opportunity to observe their farming techniques which allow them to survive here. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 03.- Iquitos - Lima
Return by boat through the Amazon River to the city of Iquitos and then transfer to the airport to fly to Lima.

We Recommend to bring
- Personal sleeping bag
- Binoculars, Camera and film (ASA 200 and 400 for the inner forest)
- One pair of lightweight ankle height boots and sandals
- Warm clothing, long sleeve shirts and long pants (cotton)
- Insect repellent (recommended with 50% Deet), sunscreen lotion
- Flashlight, enough batteries (alkaline) and bulbs
- Wide brim hat (for sunny days), sun glasses
- Towel, swimming suit, personal medicines and/or supplies
- Day pack, and one back pack or duffel bag of luggage per person
