Itinerary
Day 1
9:00 AM we leave for the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (north of Cusco), where our guide will give an introductory chat on safety and about the equipment we will use for our trip running the Urubamba. We will raft for around 2 ½ hours in Class II, III, IV+ and V rapids, depending on which route we select.
We also run the river Huambutio.
Class II at Ollantaytambo
Class III (from May to December) or IV and V (Dec to May), Quiquijana.
For Quiquijana while there are class IV and V rapids we always bring a safety kayaker with us. This means that there is one extra guide for the safety of our clients.
After lunch we return to Cusco, arriving at around 5:00 PM.
The rainy season is a great time to go rafting because the river is higher and therefore faster with much larger waves. The rainy season lasts from December to April.
